Planet Bones is the solo experimental recording project of Southern California-based composer, multimedia artist, and researcher Diya Anantharaman. Anantharaman’s live performances often feature choral soundscapes constructed from the ground-up with live looping, alongside poetry, field recordings, drone folk, and occasional industrial accents.

Anantharaman will be working towards an M.A. in Linguistics from the University of Zürich, with a research-oriented focus in psycholinguistics, neurolinguistics, and the cognition of language, aiming to also bridge linguistic research with performance art and multimedia approaches.

Anantharaman’s literary writing has been featured in ExPat Press, fifth wheel press, and more. Planet Bones has been featured on KVCU Radio 1190, CHAPSTICK MAGAZINE, Radio K, & death of a rabbit magazine
