my first full-length album, Parasitism, turned five years old today (2.7.25)

commemorating this with a photo on the shore, cradled in fog

Parasitism is a capsule of my teenhood, written/recorded between ages 14-16 & released 2.7.20, shortly preceding quarantine

upon reflection of Parasitism‘s creation & process:

the video for “Sandbag” was created with polymer clay stop motion—it remains one of my favorite videos I have made for a song because of its absurdity (propelling me towards discovering my penchant for the eldritch… and leaning into it with subsequent creations)

body horror is of great interest to me (specifically in music, film, and video games), and “Sandbag” was the beginning of my exploration of it as an artistic concept

“Depths (Interlude)” is a track I like to consistently incorporate into live performances because it is almost a hymn—devoted to mortality and human connection

a recent performance of it live (@ 2:44) lives here

a meditative haze shrouds over me whenever I perform “Depths” & it remains one of my favorite tracks off of Parasitism

Parasitism was recorded in my bedroom, between high school breaks and growing pains

around the time of its release, my friends jokingly theorized that the album cover was a quarantine premonition

that was only a coincidence, albeit uncanny

thank you for listening to Parasitism & engaging with my work
